Sustainability Commitment

Adirondack Information Management Inc. is pleased to announce our commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. We recognize the urgency of addressing climate change and are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact. Our plan includes developing a comprehensive Green House Gas emissions inventory, setting interim targets, and enhancing our sustainability practices. We are excited to begin a journey towards a more sustainable future.

    1. Commitment Declaration: Adirondack Information Management Inc. has officially announced our commitment to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
    2. Baseline Emissions Inventory: We are conducting a comprehensive analysis to quantify current Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions, particularly focusing on areas such as business travel and employee commuting, which are significant for a staffing company.
    3. Reduction Strategies: We are reviewing our internal environment to create a more sustainable workplace.  We are focused on three areas in particular.
      • Energy Efficiency: Upgrade office spaces with energy-efficient technologies and practices.
      • Renewable Energy: Transition to renewable energy sources for office operations and encourage remote working to reduce commuting emissions.
      • Staff Engagement: Implement a green commuting plan that includes incentives for using public transportation, carpooling, and cycling.
    4. Interim Targets: We will establish achievable interim targets for 2030 and 2040 to guide progress and ensure accountability.
    5. Monitoring and Reporting: We will develop a framework for annual emissions reporting, monitoring progress against targets, and adjusting strategies as needed.  Senior management will review progress in concert with year end financial reporting.
    6. Public Disclosure and Transparency: Commit to regular public reporting on progress to foster transparency and build trust with our clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.

This plan initiates the journey towards net-zero, with ongoing assessment and refinement to adapt to new technologies and opportunities.

Our organization is committed to accurately measuring and managing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. To ensure the highest standards of accuracy and transparency, we calculate our GHG inventory using the methodologies and guidelines provided by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).

The GHG Protocol is the world's most widely used greenhouse gas accounting standard. It provides a comprehensive framework for measuring and managing greenhouse gas emissions from private and public sector operations, value chains, and mitigation actions. By adhering to the GHG Protocol, we ensure that our GHG inventory is consistent, comparable, and reliable, enabling us to effectively track our emissions and identify opportunities for reduction.

Using the GHG Protocol, we assess our emissions across various scopes:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by our organization.
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity consumed by our organization.
  • Scope 3: All other indirect emissions that occur in our value chain, including both upstream and downstream emissions.

By implementing the GHG Protocol's rigorous standards, we demonstrate our commitment to environmental responsibility and our dedication to contributing to global efforts to mitigate climate change. Our GHG inventory process not only helps us understand our carbon footprint but also informs our sustainability strategies, allowing us to set ambitious goals and track our progress toward reducing emissions.
