Job Description:

 

Our First Nations client is seeking a policy analyst with strong background in economics and financial governance.

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

 

You will be responsible for providing policy analysis and conducting research on matters related to the fiscal relationship between First Nations and the Government of Canada. You will also be responsible for developing work plans to achieve identified objectives in this field and for delivering on those work plans.   

 

 

Skills and Experience Requirements

 

Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (s. 16(1) CHRA). Candidates should possess a post-secondary degree in Economics, Accounting, Law, or a related field with pertinent experience.   Strong statistical skills, proficiency in Excel and an understanding of public accounts are requirements.

 

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years work experience in policy and economic analysis, preferably in a related setting.   Experience building effective relationships with national, regional and/or community First Nation leaders, as well as technicians, and/or Federal, Provincial or Territorial government departments and agencies and other non-profit organizations is an asset.

 

Candidates will have experience in integrating information and assessing the significance and implication of policy positions and strategies, writing analytical reports, and preparing presentations.
